At the end of June, Chef Boonphaya of Circles Thai will be starting a fire with food, inducing waves of endorphins, adrenaline, and fits of laughter; a chili challenge that will either make legends out of its’ participants, or lead to their spontaneous combustion; a fire of the mouth – a story to be spread around town for days to come.
The typical breakdown of spice levels at Circles Thai is mild, medium, hot and Thai hot. Most people go no further than to try medium spice, or, as the staff like to call it, “American hot”. At this challenge, there will be the addition of a spice level or two to keep things interesting, since we all know the fun begins at Thai hot.
The challenge will start out with food of a mild spice level, with the food gradually getting hotter, and hotter, and hotter. Overly-ambitious contestants will no doubt resort to brash decisions – anything to soothe the pain.
The hotter the spice level of each participants’ dish, the cheaper their bill will be. To those of you who make it the whole way through the challenge, your meal will be on the house! Come join us at Thai Tap Out.
